Fed cho biết mới đây đã áp dụng “mục tiêu lạm phát trung bình” và thừa nhận lợi ích của 1 thị trường lao động khỏe mạnh. Fed vẫn giữ mức mục tiêu lạm phát 2%, nhưng mục tiêu mới là “cố gắng đạt được mức lạm phát trung bình 2%”, tức là Fed loại bỏ mức trần lạm phát cố định, sẵn sàng chấp nhận lạm phát tăng lên cao hơn 2%.
